Web design for electricians

Electrician working on the wiring of a consumer unit

Electrician website design that explains what you do in plain English

Ask ten homeowners what an EICR is and you’ll probably get ten blank looks. Ask them whether their rewire needs signing off and most won’t know. That gap is a real opportunity for an electrician’s website, because the firm that explains things clearly is usually the one that gets the call.

People search for the job, not the trade

Hardly anyone types “electrician” and stops there. They search for the thing they need doing, and the most useful electrician websites have a page for each of the main ones.

What people search for What they usually need to know
EICR or landlord electrical certificate Who needs one, how often, and what happens if something fails
EV charger installation Whether their supply can cope, and roughly how long it takes
Consumer unit or fuse board replacement Why it’s being recommended and whether it’s urgent
Rewiring an older house How disruptive it will be and how long they’ll be without power
Solar panels and battery storage Whether you install and register them, and what comes next

Each of those can be its own short page on your site. Written properly, they help customers understand the job and they give search engines a clear reason to show you for those searches across Shrewsbury, Telford and the rest of the county.

Landlords are worth a page of their own

In England, private landlords need an electrical safety inspection at least every five years and must give a copy of the report to their tenants. Letting agents and landlords search for this regularly, and they tend to come back year after year with several properties. If you do this work, a simple page explaining the process, with an easy way to request a quote, can become a steady source of repeat business.

Registrations, insurance and the boring bits

NICEIC or NAPIT registration, being able to self-certify notifiable work, public liability insurance, any warranties you offer. None of it is exciting, but customers look for it, and commercial clients often need to see it before they can put you on their supplier list. We’ll make sure it’s easy to find without cluttering the homepage.

What it costs

The Classic Website at £30 a month including VAT gives you up to 15 pages, which is plenty for a page per service. If you’d like to keep adding pages yourself, or want custom quote forms, the Premium Website is £45 a month and includes our content management system. Both include hosting, SSL and support, with no setup fee and no minimum term. You can see everything side by side on our web design packages page.

If you often team up with other trades on refits, our pages for plumbers and builders explain how we approach theirs.

EICRs, EV chargers, rewires and fuse boards each get a clear page, so you show up for what people actually search.

Questions electricians often ask us

What pages should an electrician’s website have?

A homepage, an about page, a contact page, and then a short page for each of the main jobs you want, such as EICRs, EV chargers, consumer unit upgrades and rewires. A page covering the areas you work in is useful too. That fits comfortably within the 15 pages of our Classic Website.

Should I show my NICEIC or NAPIT registration?

Yes. Customers and commercial clients look for it, and it reassures people that you can sign off notifiable work properly. Show the logo where the scheme allows and include your registration details on your about or contact page.

Can I take quote requests with photos?

Yes. Our Premium Website includes custom forms, so you could ask for a photo of the consumer unit or the property type before you quote. It saves a wasted visit when the job turns out to be something else.

Will this help me get domestic and commercial work?

It can, as long as the site makes it clear you do both. We usually keep them as separate sections, because a homeowner and a facilities manager want very different information.

How quickly can my site go live?

Most websites are live within 14 working days once we have your content, photos and brief.

Is there a contract?

There is no minimum term and no setup fee. You pay £30 or £45 a month including VAT and can cancel at any time.
