Web design for plasterers
Plasterer website design that shows off a perfect finish
Here’s the odd thing about good plastering. When it’s done well, nobody notices it. The walls are just flat, the corners are crisp and the decorator has an easy time. That makes it surprisingly hard to show off, and it’s why so many plasterers rely almost entirely on builders and word of mouth.
That works, until it doesn’t. A website gives you a second source of work, and a way for homeowners to find you directly without going through a main contractor.
Specialisms are where you stand out
Plenty of people can skim a ceiling. Fewer can do lime plaster properly, or render a house so it still looks good in ten years. If you have a specialism, it deserves its own page, because that’s exactly what people search for.
- Lime plastering and period work: Shropshire has a huge number of old buildings, from timber-framed houses in Shrewsbury and Ludlow to stone cottages in the hills. Owners of those homes are often looking specifically for someone who understands breathable materials.
- Rendering: through-coloured renders, traditional sand and cement, and external wall insulation. Big jobs that people research carefully.
- Artex and ceilings: older textured coatings can contain asbestos, so many careful homeowners want to know you’ll test first. Saying so builds a lot of trust.
- Dry lining, skimming and patch repairs: the everyday work that keeps the diary full.
How to photograph flat walls
Light does the work here. A wall photographed with low, raking light from a window shows every ripple, so if your finish still looks glassy in that light, you’ve proved your point. Before and after shots of a crumbling ceiling or a cracked, blown wall are useful too, and external rendering looks great with a drone shot of the finished house. Our photo and film services can help with all of that.
What it costs
The Classic Website is £30 a month including VAT, which covers up to 15 pages, hosting, SSL, a contact form and support. Most plasterers find that’s plenty. If you’d like to add projects and photos yourself, the Premium Website is £45 a month and includes our content management system. No setup fee, no minimum term, and you can compare the two on our web design packages page.
Plasterers usually work hand in glove with builders and decorators, so those pages might help if you’re passing our name on.
Lime, render, ceilings and dry lining given their own pages, so people looking for them find you.
Shropshire’s old buildings need people who understand them. Say so clearly and you’ll be found.
Raking light, before and after pairs and drone shots of finished render.
A second source of work alongside the builders who already know you.
We look after hosting, security and updates. You get on with the walls.
Design, hosting, SSL and support for a single monthly fee including VAT.
Questions plasterers often ask us
Do plasterers really need a website if most work comes from builders?
It helps. Builders will still look you up, and a website lets homeowners find you directly for smaller jobs, repairs and specialist work. That gives you a second source of work, which is useful when a main contractor goes quiet.
Should I have separate pages for rendering and plastering?
Yes, if you do both. Rendering customers and plastering customers search differently and ask different questions. Separate pages, with photos of each type of work, help both groups and help search engines understand what you offer.
Is lime plastering worth mentioning separately?
If you do it, definitely. Owners of older and listed properties often search specifically for lime work, and there are plenty of period buildings across Shropshire.
How do I photograph plastering well?
Use low light from the side, such as a window, so the finish is shown properly. Before and after pairs work well for repairs, and external render looks best from a distance or from the air.
How much does it cost?
Our packages are £30 or £45 a month including VAT, with no setup fee and no minimum term. Hosting, SSL and support are included.
How long does it take?
Most sites are live within 14 working days once we have your content, photos and brief.
